Project DateJune 6th, 2002 Project Description Orchestrating a scene Lighting Concept Statement My goal was to effectively use lighting to create a unique visual interpretation of the painting, and the scenic representation thereof. I hope to convey to the audience a new perspective on a pre-existing work.By combining several viewpoints and types of media, we can hopefully enhance the degree to which the viewer is captivated by the art.

the pre-existing artwork.

About the Artist John Sell Cotman, a 19th century Englishman, rose from his humble background as a hairdresser to become one of the most aclaimed and popular watercolor painters of the 20th century. His artwork concentrated on paintings in the romantic style, despite extensive dabbling in etchings, drwaing, and printmaking early on in his career. This particular piece, "Chirk Aqueduct" is on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and was painted in 1806. Cotman was a master of capturing the essence of light on canvas, making him an appropriate subject for study.
